National homicide monitoring program

Annual data, reported annually, since 1989, with analyses on selected issues. Monitors trends and patterns in the incidence of homicide across Australia. Data is gathered on victims and offenders of homicide including location, time, date and cause of death, motives and other situational factors, and various characteristics of offender and victim: age, gender, Indigenous status, employment status, prior criminal history, and relationship between victim and offender. One of the recent analyses is specifically of Indigenous homicide data.
