This agenda responds to high rates of family violence affecting Indigenous families and communities, and the call for preventative invested initiatives employing local Indigenous skills, better police presence and better integrated community services in remote areas. The report outlines aims to improve the situation in collaboration with state and territory governments, non government organisations and communities. The agenda policy areas address alcohol abuse, the need for more effective policy protection measures, strengthening social norms against violence and coordinating support services. The monography discusses to the allocation of funding available for initiatives aimed at reducing the incidents of family violence inline with the development of The National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children which will address these key areas.
